LEVEL 1A Student Book & CD: Partial Book (pages 1-56)

For beginners ages 7-10, or graduates of EZ Keys, Menehune, Blast Off with Piano Jr, or Blast Off with Piano. This book is the first 56 pages of the jumbo-sized student book is one of our all-time most popular books! There are 49 original compositions of practice pieces, recital/performance pieces, and analyzing theory fun sheets combined so that the theory you teach in a lesson is the theory that is relevant to that lesson.

This first partial book of Level 1A begins with teaching students how to count rhythms (eighth-note rhythms are introduced in the first lesson) and the keys on the piano, then progresses to teaching staff notes Middle C, D, and E in the treble clef and Middle C in the bass clef. To ensure that your beginner students are really reading notes and not reading fingering numbers, we do not teach fingering until the third partial book for Level 1A. Please do not write the finger numbers on the earlier pages because the students use this as a short-cut to keep from learning their notes.

You do not need to buy a separate lesson book, a scale book, a theory book, a practice book, etc. This book has everything in it. Not only that, the theory taught in each lesson is the theory needed to play the new piece in that lesson, and the music concepts that have been previously taught are reinforced as many times as possible in later theory lessons and games.

The partial books are available only as spiral bound; the accompaniments contain all compostions in the complete book (not just this partial book). The next book for the primer student is the spiral bound Partial Book Level 1A, Pages 58-96.

SET OF TWO CDs: These orchestrated CDs are for student use at home or in class. Playing with an orchestrated CD teaches students to play with other musicians from the beginning of their piano education.
