Apparently a piano duet reduction of this symphony was played to the conductor Arthur Nikisch in Leipzig, to persuade him to give the first orchestral performance in 1884. I imagine that's the origin of this duet edition (though there are no notes with it to confirm that). Anyway, it...

is very satisfying to play. It seems that this was one of Hitler's favourite pieces of music, but I don't see why that should put off the rest of us. Lets not let the devil steal all the best tunes!

This is Bruckner's own transcription of his most popular symphony for four-hands one-piano duet. It is pretty playable, and affords the players extra insights into Bruckner's beautiful and masterful music. Wish there were more like it!
