The six short movements (Prelude, Waltz, Song, Procession, Tarantella, Finale, for a cumulative duration of ten and a one-half minutes) are like a pastiche of style exercises presented with a dash of humor which the composer himself described as being "traditional and romantic". This Suite is but one more example of the delicate and seductive musical talent of Richard Lane. The version for horn, oboe and piano was written by Richard Lane.
