This facsimile of an original by Franz Anton Hoffmeister is part of our Dominantes collection. Etudes pour alto viola. Livre I. Edition: Leipzig, Kuhnel, undated (c. 1800-1805). Etudes pour alto viola. Livre II. Edition: Leipzig, Bureau de Musique de Hoffmeister et Kuhnel, undated (c. 1800-1805). Presentation by J. P. Vasseur : Biography bibliography differences between the original edition and modern editions hints about the score Errors and carelessness in the period edition. After the first edition, subsequent editions were a travesty. This fascimile of the first edition, which was complited under the composer's supervision, shows how useful facsimiles can be.
