The d minor string quartet is certainly one of the finest Dvorak quartets. It is very playable and charming with beautiful melodies. At several places one recognizes the style of Schubert. The second movement is like a slavonic dance for string quartet. The third movement is with many double stops...

which makes it very vulnerable, but if played in tune, very rich in sound. The finale is maybe the most difficult to interprete. If played well, it is a finale to a great quartet.
