This new arrangement of Streets of Laredo (aka The Cowboy's Lament) for a TTBB chorus plus solo, or TTBB quartet plus solo, is an cappella ballad. It is an arrangement of a moderately-high level of experience and knowledge. Your singers and audiences will love the soothing three-quarter time and the story will tug at the heart. Perfect for concerts and competitions. The tune has been around since the 1700's, probably from Ireland, originally called "The Unfortunate Rake." Over the years, the song's lyrics have had hundreds of variations. These words were written by cowboy Frank H. Maynard as he drove cattle between Kansas, Texas and Colorado, and was first published in 1910. Members of the Western Writers of America chose this song as one of the top 100 Western Songs of all time. The song title refers to the city of Laredo, Texas. I may be contacted at email and would really enjoy attending a performance if it is within my range of travel from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
