This is a great piece. It is written in two parts. The first is slower and the second picks up tempo and really rocks (literally) toward the end. I played this piece in a recital to show my funk musician brothers that the bassoon can play jazz/rock/blues/world...

music, too! It convinced them. It goes up to high E in a couple places. The scale patterns are modal and a bit of a trick if you aren't used to playing them. It was a great challenge for me to learn. I highly recommend this piece. (Make sure your accompanist can count!)
