A vigorous composition which is full of exciting melodies and vibrant rhythms. Starting out in a fast 6/8, your students and audiences will feel that they are riding along with fearless "Stormchasers" who are chasing a tornado or hurricane. The calm at the eye of the storm is depicted with a beautiful yet ominous sounding section that gives your flute section and flute soloist a chance to shine. An outstanding choice for concert or festival performances, this unique selection will challenge mid-level bands. Outstanding!

  • March 29, 2008 Absolutely Amazing!

This piece is absolutely amazing! I am in a wind ensemble group and my teacher picked this song and found out that this song was originally written based on the spy jets that fly into the hurricane and record all kinds of data. This way they now where to evacuate...

so the hurricane will not hurt anyone. Truly amazing! Great Job Larry Neeck!

  • March 29, 2008 Great piece

I'm conducting this with my 6th-8th grade Wind Ensemble (the majority are 6th and 7th graders) and they are doing well with it. It's a great piece for 6/8 time and chromatic passages. They struggled in the beginning but are very eager to learn it because...

of the incredible programmatic element to the piece.

  • March 10, 2008 The best song

I play alto sax but i think that this piece is great for the flutes. Larry neeck is a very talented man for writing this piece.

I play bari sax on this song and say that is one of the most challenging songs I have ever played. I am not saying it was hard, I was just saying it was the most difficult ever for me. The flutes will love it for the solo. Is a...

    great song over all.
