This new release collects a small but largely forgotten repertoire of solo and chamber pieces for the bass clarinet. The works date from the latter half of the 19th century through the 1930s. Three world renowned bass clarinetists are heard here- Stefano Cardo, Thomas Aber, and Balthasar Hens, as well as esteemed keyboardists- pianists Ruta Stadalnykaite, Robert Pherigo, and Hsiao-Yen Chen and organist Pietro Pasquini. They are accompanied by the Liliencron-Quartet der Stuttgarter Philharmoniker. The ensemble would like to especially thank Gianmario Masala, photographer and visual artist, for supporting this project by the creation of the image in the front cover.
