Seranade by F.Schubert is a beautifulcomposition;and the arrangement by Standchen is very good. It is not beautiful in terms of the beauty of Chopins music;never-the-lessit has its own poetry and is worth learning.

    Colts Country!
    Difficulty Level:
  • February 14, 2008 BEAUTIFUL piece, great score!

This is an absolutely gorgeous piece of music with only one flat, so it's not a difficult key signature. This version is four pages long. I would consider it intermediate to advanced intermediate. It's harder than Moonlight Sonata, but easier than the easiest Chopin Nocturnes. There is a...

fair amount of movement of the left hand, 3 and 4 note chords with both hands, but also some repetition, which makes learning it quicker. The fourth--and most difficult--page throws in some new stuff, and lots of really beautiful chords. This is the all Schubert version, not the one transcribed by Liszt, which is about 7 pages long and more difficult (but not any prettier in my opinion).

  • October 25, 2007 A little disappointed

I took piano lessons for 10 years and have been playing for my own enjoyment ever since (almost 40 yrs.) I recently heard this piece on piano so didn't remember it was originally written for orchestra. This piano version is a little disappointing. The "orchestration" seems thin compared to...

the beauty of the original piece.
