the composers because that's just the way it always is. The point of this score is to be used WITH additional instruments, especially where the winds and harp etc. are concerned. It's a bit old-fashioned, which makes it a bit hard to follow in places, but on the whole it's a good, easy-to-use, hard-to-play vocal score.
