As with Marcellos D minor Sonata, which has already appeared in a DOWANI edition, this Sonata, Op. 2, in F Major for treble (alto) recorder and basso continuo, by Benedetto Marcello, is noteworthy for its highly idiomatic writing for the recorder;the music seems to lie perfectly under the fingers.1-3 Adagio4-7 Allegro8-10 Largo11-14 Allegro

  • November 02, 2007 Great product -very effective.

The 3-tempi play-along is a very effective and satisfying way to practice and playing the music. All tempi in this recording are just about right. I used to use a computer to input the b.c. scores into a midi synthesizer to generate the semi-realistic harpsichord and...

gamba sound to play along. Now I just have to pop in the CD and hit Play. There's one typo in the score though. It actually helps since it alerts me to listen more attentively just to make sure there's no more.
