The Sonata in F Op. 65 compares favorably in quality to Dussek's later sonatas for piano solo.Dussek's trio, as with other works of his, presents problems in the text. There are several versions. The modern Kunzelmann edition is based off an early edition, likely the one on IMSLP. The modern Musica Rara edition is apparently based off a later version. A brief fanfare is tacked onto the front of the first movement and recalled at the end. A small amount of passagework in the first movement differs between Kunzelmann and Musica Rara. The second and third movements differ very little. In both editions, the editors attempted to correct the many inconsistancies in phrasing. However, they did very little to correct the many wrong notes and accidentals found in the original editions, and in at least one case the correction is incorrect. My solution is to obtain both Kunzelmann and Musica Rara, and compare them against each other and against the early edition on IMSLP.
