This piece a very interesting piece, used commonly for lots of auditions, as it displays virtuoso technique and a characteristic flair. This particular version, however, is missing a lot of common notation figures and editing, such as up bows/down bows, when to go sul G, etc. I had to...

use my international music company version a lot as a reference. Besides that, it is a very nice score.

The notes are a bit small for an old man (76)like me, but alright for younger people. This piece is good for beginner and intermediate players. It's melodic and interesting.

This little known piece is quite a challenge, but always very musical, and surprises me that it is not better known and played. I have always loved Prokofiev and this sonata is one of the reasons why. It seems to evolve from a neo-classic theme into something that gets...

richer and fuller as it evolves.
