This Trio Sonata will cause something of a confusion. The identical work appears to lurk about under two different titles! One reliable source tells us it is known as La Brembata. Another source gives it as La Bernard's. The work itself is brilliant but pithy and like music of...

a later age, straight to the point, no frills but at the same time it explores its way through some pleasing modulations supported by a terrific continuo part. My preferred version is to use a chamber organ rather than harpsichord but until I actually play it live, I am open to suggestions as to which instrument is going to work best. I can thoroughly recommend this work to all players looking for something different. And here is an excellent example.
