(Level V) This piece is the second movement of East Coast Blow Out, a suite Jim wrote for John Scofield and the West German Radio (W.D.R.) Big Band in 1989. It's currently available on Lipstick Records "*****" -Down Beat). A technically and conceptually challenging piece, it requires strong solos by the guitarist, pianist, and bassist. There are parts for an expanded rhythm section of solo guitar, "section" guitar, synthesizer, piano, bass, and drums. The chart does work, however, without the synth and "section" guitar parts. 9 Brass.
