I've always been looking for new pieces for unaccompanied violin that are great to play. I must admit nothing beats the J.S. Bach unaccompanied sonatas and partitas. But the Reger sonata opus 91 #2 is a wonderful piece that I have greatly enjoy playing for years. People loved...

it when I played it in a recital recently. #3 is nice, and the Vivace/Scherzo from #4 I love to play. These Reger sonatas can get a little complex, but they have nice rhythms , melodies, and tons of double stops. There is lots of character and moods in these pieces. Great pieces for keeping your fingers in shape. In the second book I especially liked sonata #5 and the vivace/scherzo from sonata #7.
