This is a 'pretty' piece, in the right sense, tuneful and widely ranging in its harmonics. Easy to play, and deserving of a wider audience - whoever wrote it! Well produced on sturdy paper.

This piece has a haunting quality and a couple of moments that are surprisingly modern-sounding in a new-age sort of way. Maria von Paradis is great story - blind, female, student of Salieri. But she didn't write this piece. According to Wikipedia: "Her most famous work, the Sicilienne...

in E flat major for piano quartet, is unfortunately spurious, as it is derived from a Weber violin sonata (Op. 10 No. 1) and is believed to have been concocted by its purported discoverer, Samuel Dushkin."
