First Printing The flute solos and duets by the brothers Karl and Franz Doppler still form part of flutists' standard repertoire to this day (and thus also of the Musica Rara repertoire). Peter Thalheimer discovered the unknown vocal piece "Pástorhangok" (Shepherd's Tune) in the estate of the Doppler family. His first edition satisfies all source-critical requirements. To make the work easier to perform, an easily singable German translation was supplied to the original Hungarian text. The piano accompaniment was originally conceived for a hybrid instrument that combined the piano and the physharmonica - a rarity that no doubt only few performers could come up with today.
