Composed by Franz Liszt, based on music by Franz Schubert. Arranged by John Barrientos. Instructional,Romantic Period. Score. 40 pages. J Barrientos Music #6327175. Published by J Barrientos Music (A0.942246).

This is a very scholarly edition of the transcription done by Franz Liszt of Franz Schubert's Serenade (also known as Standchen).  It has notes on the poem itself, how the modulations of the music fit the poem, textual commentary of the music based on the sources available to me, my own highly accurate translation from the German with detailed explanations of both the English and the German.  This was done at the behest of my professor, and critically reviewed by him.  It is suitable for scholars at the highest level, but can be used and appreciated by teachers and students in different ways at all levels.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
