Since I was a young voice student this was always my favorite Italian aria, but it seemed to disappear from all Italian anthologies. I am ecstatic to find it again! This is a beautiful arrangement. I recommend it!

My women's choir learned this. It was a good way to introduce 24 Italian Songs and Arias, i.e., standard competition solos. This way I was able to teach the song to all of my girls, making it easy to send kids to allstate auditions.

I like the fact that this is an SSA arrangement of one of those songs you always hear at competitions and auditions for students (i.e., college, allstate, etc.). All of the original ornamentation is included in the soprano I part, but I found it's easy to omit most of it. The best part is that all my girls learn the song, so it's easy for them to use it for auditions.

My girls ended up loving this piece. It's a nice way to introduce these classic art songs to a choral group.

This piece will require your singers to work, but it's a wonderful introduction to the world of Italian art songs.

I hear this piece every year at literary competitions. It's nice to be able to teach this to a whole class, especially if you are hoping to find that student who can really do it well for future competitions. It's not easy though!
