Composed by David Denyer. Contemporary. Score. 1 pages. David Denyer #3416749. Published by David Denyer (A0.992209).

A simple, single-page text score, loosely based on the Seikilos epitaph - the oldest known complete human composition.
The format is an instruction set based around a specific ordering of pitches and results in a very slowly-moving, atmospheric pulsing drone, with constant internal movement and a resulting sequence of complex and unique resonances, with each performance coming together in an entirely new way. The result places both the performers and the audience into a shared meditative state, reflective of a much older, more mythical and ritualistic appreciation and use of music.

The length of this score is determined per performance and is for any number of players, but a good mix of strings, winds and percussion tends to work very well.

This was first performed by the Echoshed Collective in December 2016.
