Homilius, Kapellmeister of the Kreuzkirche in Dresden, was a major Protestant composer of the mid-18th century. Following the tradition established by J. S. Bach,"See How Great His Love" is a motet based on the familiar Christmas carol,"In dulci jubilo," but since the text makes no direct reference to Christmas it may be used any time of year.
