Salvation Is Created
Spasenie sodelal
By Pavel Grigorievich Chesnokov

SATB choir (div)
Spasenie sodelal. Composed by Pavel Grigorievich Chesnokov (1877-1944). Choral octavo. With Language: Church Slavonic. Musica Russica #CN 176. Published by Musica Russica (MR.Cn-176).

Item Number: MR.Cn-176

This is the most popular sacred work by Pavel Chesnokov (18771944) outside of Russia. This edition restores Chesnokov's original voicing and markings, which were sometimes missing from the numerous Englishlanguage editions that appeared in the 1920s and 1930s. The text consists of a single psalm verse, followed by Alleluia, which makes singing this piece in the original language eminently accessible to choirs of all levels. (Also available in arrangements for SSAA, TTBB, and SAB choirs).

  • December 09, 2012 Amazing piece!

This piece is brilliant and profound. It's in Russian, so be ready for that, but the transliteration is easy to understand. Love it! All of Chesnokov's pieces are pretty solid, but this one really stands out.
