I'm still puzzled about who the audience is for this book. It's certainly too advanced for rank beginners -- the type of players who might be seeking a broad introduction to 5 genres James addresses. If you are an intermediate player, chances there's very little to learn here...

if you already know how to play an alteranting bass. You just can't cover five huge genres well in a small book. Good try, but it doesn't work. AG magazine produces some outstanding titles. This is one of the weaker enties in their catalog. If you are looking for good Acoustic Blues intro books, try those written by Kenny Sultan, also avaialble on this site
