Jean-Joseph Mouret (1682 -1738) was a French composer whose dramatic works made him one ofthe leading exponents of Baroquemusic in his country. Even thoughmost of his works are no longer performed, Mouret's name survives today thanksto the popularity of the Fanfare-Rondeau from his first Suite de symphonies, which hasbeen adopted as the signature tune of the PBS program Masterpiece Theatre and is a popular musical choice inmany modern weddings. It is also an excellent concert opener. This 1:40 arrangement is playable by either SATB or AATB Saxophone Quartet. It was originally written in 1985 and revised in 2016. You may contact me at
