The opening of this piece is unaccompanied, with the violist shifting twice in dramatic crescendo. I add a portamento, giving it an even more romantic feel. Clarke. A short work, packed with skills needed for romantic playing. Great for vibrato, shifting, long bows, dynamic contrast, and changing tone colors.
