Throughout the ages, man has created ceremonies, both liturgical and secular, to celebrate human existence. Fueled by the driving force of the percussion section, this work investigates an eclectic blend of musical styles drawn from many cultural roots. The pile-driving rhythms underscore the melodic and harmonic content. Fascinating instrumental colors add richness and vibrance to this powerful new work. Soaring! I love this piece, and I played it at a concert with my junior high band. This is one of my favorites to play. It is lively and energetic and the melody and beat celebrates the spirit of rhythm and making good music.

This was a very fun piece to play, I miss band but when we played it it wasn't that hard. I really like it and might get a tattoo of a part of the song on me. Band rules. We played this in Penticton I think.

  • March 12, 2005 AWESOME!!!

Our band played this masterpiece at the Alachua County Fair last year, and it was a major hit! I, and everyone else in the band, fell in love with it ever since we sight-read it! This song begins with a beautiful ballad within the percussion and light woodwinds section...

, and the builds into this dramatic dance with the entire band! This piece will set the hearts of all band children on fire with passion!
