  • January 04, 2008 Richard Stoltzman Shares his Unique Musical Style

I have always enjoyed the breadth and sensitivity of Stoltzman's repertoire. In this book containing over 200 pages and about 30 pieces, he shares with us his own arrangements of some of the more popular pieces he has recorded. there is a piano accompaniment and a clarinet pull-out...

section. the book is divided into three sections -- music by his friend and colleague Bill Douglas, Classical, and Jazz. level of difficulty ranges from intermediate to advanced, so there is something for everyone here and a lot to aspire to if you are not at the advanced level (which includes this reviewer!). My own preference is generally for classical, but I have always loved the music of Bill Douglas.
