When you are the mezzo soloist for this piece it would be nice to know that the Pie Jesu is COMPLETELY missing from this score. It would also be helpful to have a few of the notes from the accompaniment for choir members who want to use this score to...

practice at home and work on finding notes.

  • April 10, 2009 DURUFLE Magic made easy

Light, easily read, bold type score for the Durufle Requiem. No musical accompaniment which is fine but would have been better if the final few bars of accompaniment could have been added as a basis for pitching your starting note

  • March 05, 2009 a superb contrast

Paired with that grand opera of a Requiem by Mozart, this one by Durufle is quiet and reflective, with rare modern plainchant interludes. Two quite different pleas for care of the soul. The forthcoming performance should be a treat for the ear and a contrast for the emotions.

Not a huge fan of this piece...the Lux Aeterna seems juxtapositional, and I'm just not particulalry in love with it.
