SKU: A0.790844

Composed by Collection Forster 1549. Arranged by Georg Mertens. Classical,Multicultural,Renaissance,Traditional,World. Score and parts. 9 pages. Georg Mertens #3508375. Published by Georg Mertens (A0.790844).

Collected by Forster in 1549 - one of the most beautiful melodies.
This edition includes cello solo part, guitar accompaniment and words in German and English to be sung with guitar.
The original source of the melody in treble clef has been included.
The text describes a maiden lamenting her lover not coming back because he had to go to war - the endless story of loved ones ripped apart. This song had been omitted from the collection since 1933 as it didn't glorify war and I have never heard of it until I found this old edition.
The words indicate that the author of the song was a woman.
The collector Forster was keen to find the finest music in the country to make it available in the newly invented print. Collectors at this time usually didn't know the name of composers as there was no written record.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
