Published by Miguel Astor (A0.827783).Purísima is a traditional Venezuelan Christmas Carol from XIXth century composed by composer Rafael Izaza. This work was compiled by maestro Vicente Emilio Sojo in two classical anthologies arranged for voice and piano titled "Aguinaldos Venezolanos" published during the middle 40s of the XXth century. Since then it has been a Christmas favourite in Venezuela. Its beautiful melodies and the contrast between the "merengue" dance of the first part and the "contradanza" of the second part becomes this carol in a special sample of this repertoire. This arrangement includes the chords for the accompaniment by guitar or venezuelan cuatro.
