Frédéric Chopin (1810-49) was aPolish composer and pianist of the romantic era. He wrote primarily for thesolo piano, although his works also include two piano concertos, chamber works, and Polish songs. This beautifully haunting piece has been arranged and adapted for double bass withpiano accompaniment. It provides a good study in bow technique and control, dynamic andtonal precision, and positional work around the E minor scale. This is an idealrecital piece for an early/intermediate player.
