This is a great book. Music is note for note for the recorded songs. Play-Along CD is terrific. PLays songs with violin, then without. Great songs for a violin player who's looking for something challenging, yet different to play. I recommend it highly.

I am an intermediate violin player - classically trained. I was excited to get popular music to play. I was particularly interested in "The Devil Went Down to Georgia". I was disappointed in this book. It left out many of the solo violin parts in all of the songs. I was...

Lots of loud beats before each piece makes it distracting. Also some of the songs like Elenor Rigby gives the melody to accompement rather than violin. Very fast tempo on other pieces.
