  • June 08, 2019 Good selection of obscure tangoes

    First off, only two of these tunes are easy... perhaps the title should have been "simple" arrangements. Some tunes are at 140 which is pretty fast. Most are in first position. To my way of thinking an "easy" book should be able to be sight read by an intermediate player...

    ; but only two songs were. Having said that; Piazzoli writes some interesting tunes so expect odd chording. Two tunes that were not in there: Yo soy Maria and LiberTango. The arrangements are very intelligently put together and the author has done some tremendous work; be warned that this is not pick up and play at the gig song book; but if you have the time these are really "cool" tunes...
