  • October 29, 2012 Great piece of music but not long enough

Great music but this arrangement is too short and does little to develop the theme, particularly the Black Pearl. We had to make up some repeats to fill it out a bit but it still feels like there is something missing. On the positive side, the flex band arrangements cater...

well for a diverse range of instruments and since we are a cross between an orchestra and a concert band we have need parts for strings as well as clarinets, brass, bassoon, sax, etc. Flex Band arrangement are the only readily available arrangements that let us step away from classical orchestral music.

  • February 13, 2008 Teenage brass love Pirates

We purchased the flexi-set of this arrangement for our small brass band. The teenagers in our Band were very keen to play it, having heard the music in the movie. It is not too hard and, although the music is not inspired, it provides good practice in expressive playing...

. Being basically in five parts, this arrangement is easily fitted to the needs of most ensembles, though you should expect to discard a large number of parts. Considering the range of parts provided, I was surprised that there was no Eb bass TC part. There should be a separate set sold for traditional English brass band ensembles. The harmony is good. The score printing is excellent.
