This is a large-scale virtuoso work (approximately thirty minutes in duration) in the classical tradition whose individual movements present vivid musical portraits of Mozart, Chopin, and Beethoven respectively.

The movements (available as one bundle or as separate movements) are:

Allegro [4/4, C, D+]
"The first movement of my piano concerto is very much a musical portrait of Mozart and is in a style that drawns inspiration directly from his greatest works in that genre."

"I've always been struck by the architecture of Étienne-Louis Boullée, for whom the historical past and visionary future were one and inseparable."

Romanza (Andante) [3/4, a, D+]
"In the Romanza movement, I've managed to frame a decidedly Polish musical portrait of Chopin with an Italian siciliano, all the while melding elements of both classical and romantic styles."

"Among Boullée's designs were many exquisitely executed drawings commemorating great men of the past. History was a living presence that never ceased to inform his work, although sadly most of his loftiest creations were never actually built."

Rondo allegro [6/8, C, D+]
"The concluding rondo is an alternately cheerful and dramatic portrayal of the young Beethoven. I even went so far as to borrow a theme from his Second Piano Concerto, but repaid the loan by introducing a new turn of phrase that maintains the movement's characteristically sunny disposition."

"Boullée fully understood the tremendously important role music would play in the lives of the people, and envisioned vast neoclassical structures which, together with the great music heard within, would nourish and uplift the public's spirit."
