bind this thick book is beyond me. You will spend a good amount of time trying to (literally) bend the binding to your will so pages do not turn on their own. However, this is a must have for any Satie fan. The benefits of owning this collection far outweigh the aforementioned issues.

This album is really meant as a study reference, not for performance. There are no fingerings, the typesetting / printing is out of date and the book binding makes it impossible to play from at the piano. If you want a piano performance book, get Schirmer's Prostakoff versions. However, if...

you want to study Satie's piano works, this makes an excellent edition. Most of his piano output is collected here in one volume and at a decent price.

Piano Album has practically everything composed by Satie. There is no fingering for the pieces so beginners should take heed as with other Impression music, Satie pieces are full of colorful chords which can be hard to learn without proper fingering.
