Composed by Liz Nedela. Contemporary,Contest,Festival,Instructional,Multicultural,World. Score. 8 pages. Liz Nedela #2013451. Published by Liz Nedela (A0.938005).

Piano Solo: A favorite among piano students, this piece uses the Phrygian mode from E- E with strong use of B (the plagal), and a "hint" of impending historic development of a m3 (g), eventually developing into a relative major (G). Listen for those mystical G's, and let them creep in. (Intervals of 5th, 4ths, arpeggios, and syncopated by displaced accents.) The mp3 is a live performance from a pianist who compared this piece with the history of ancient Phrygia that she found on Wikipedia.
