The print quality is awful. I purchased the Aria Con Variazioni by Handel from the same publisher for a student. It was fine. When another student wanted to work on this piece I ordered it without reservations. Not only would I not have a student try to read from this...

part, I certainly would not subject an accompanist to the piano part. Look for another edition if you can.

  • December 31, 2008 poor print quality

We haven't had a chance to explore this piece yet - the print quality on what we received is really poor, and my daughter compained that it's too hard for her to read. My 45 year old eyes definitely agree, but I'm annoyed to have bought it when...

her 14 year old eyes can't even see it clearly. This is what I'd expect from a free scanned download, not purchased sheet music.

  • June 05, 2008 Good old chestnut for recitals

This is one of those tried-and-true trumpet solo standards for recitals, auditions, competitions, etc. It presents three technical challenges for younger trumpeters: It's in the key of A flat (for B flat trumpet); it requires really fast, precise single tongueing; and without the accompaniment, I've always...

felt that the slow section has a weird off-putting quality that's difficult to phrase well with style. Overall, it's a good, but not great, piece of music.

  • March 31, 2008 Solo and Ensemble Competition Piece

This is a complex piece for trumpet solo and ensemble competitions. Recommended by a professional trumpet player, our trumpet teacher.

  • February 18, 2007 fun to play

I played this my freshman year for a solo and ensemble competition and i got a 1, now im going to take it to the state competition. Downside of the song is that its fairly short, but if you are really good at phrasing slow pieces(slow in the beginning...

) you will enjoy this alot.
