Ranges for each instrument are as follows: FLUTE (Part 1) ~ A4 to B5; VIOLIN (Part 2) ~ D4 to F#5. For violin players, all notes on both parts are playable in the first position making this piece an excellent choice for early-intermediate string players.
Both the FLUTE and VIOLIN get to lead with the melody at times making it enjoyable and equally challenging for both players while adding variety for the listeners. For the first verse, the two parts alternate playing the melody as a solo followed by playing as a duet for the concluding phrases. For the chorus and second verse, the FLUTE and VIOLIN play as a duet, alternating between melody and harmony. The audio sample begins in measure 21, at the beginning of the first chorus where both instruments are playing.
