The Essential Elements® Guitar Songs Series will help you play your favorite rock songs faster and easier than ever before! Each song has been carefully selected and arranged to include only basic, open guitar chords such as C, G and D so it is playable for beginning guitarists. Just follow the notes and tab, listen to the CD to hear how the guitar should sound, and then play along using the separate sound-alike backing tracks. The melody and lyrics are also included in the book in case you want to sing, or to simply help you follow along. The audio CD is playable on any CD player, and for PC and Mac computer users, the CD is enhanced so you can adjust the recording to any tempo without changing pitch! 8 songs that mid-beginners will love to learn, including: Brown Eyed Girl • Bye Bye Love • Don't Be Cruel (To a Heart That's True) • Have You Ever Seen the Rain? • Learning to Fly • Love Me Do • Should I Stay or Should I Go • Willie and the Hand Jive.

  • February 19, 2009 Fantastic Beginners Songbook!

I am a guitar teacher and I highly recomend this book to my beginning students. All the songs make use of a handful of very basic chords that every beginning guitarist should know. No crazy surprises, just basic strumming. The great thing is that it comes with a cd, which...

helps beginners out alot to make sure they are playing at the right tempo and that they are getting the strumming patterns down correctly. There is one play along track and one track with the guitar removed for each song. Some of the songs may seem a little old or hoaky for the younger crowd, but at least it's alot better than the Mel Bay songbooks. Anyway, this is a book I highly recomed to beginners once they get their basic C,G,D,D7,A,E chords down.
