This is a quasi-virtuosic arrangement of a famous Christmas classic. My now-deceased parents loved this arrangement, and it became a tradition for me to play it every Christmas Eve. By todays standards, it comes off a bit over-the-top after the tranquil first verse At that point, the piece cuts loose with a storm of octaves, runs, and arpeggios as it repeats the theme and hurtles toward the grand finale. This arrangement will not be to everyones taste, and it could be accused of excessive bravura, considering the event being depicted by the song. But its exciting to play.
