O Holy Night (French title: ''Minuit, chrétiens'') is a very popular Christmas carol, composed by Adolphe Adam in 1847. The original French lyrics were written by Placide Cappeau and were later translated into English by John Sullivan Dwight.
This edition is based on Adolphe Adam's original composition, which fits a classical style better than most modern arrangements, making it perfect for settings such as the church or recitals. (n.b.: this is not an innovative or intricate arrangement, but rather a transcription and transposition of the composer’s version, to which the English lyrics were added.)
