I am never disappointed by Tcherepnin. Though it’s rare and expensive, this piece is marvelous. The whole thing is only four pages, but I bought it on sale -- and I recommend you should too -- so the price was reduced heavily. That being said, the character of this piece is...

very mellow but also hauntingly agitating at times. I learned this in one night at 3 AM and maybe that's why I love it so much-- because it's so evocative of those emotions for me. It's not a sad piece at all, but it’s very dark and beautiful. Tcherepnin himself edited this edition, and he did a fine job. It's all decently marked up. As mentioned, I learned this piece in one night and it took me about three hours to learn the whole thing. It's not very difficult to an experienced pianist. One additional note-- Do not listen to the one existing recording of this piece. Their interpretation is so far off that I doubt they could even find the melody of the song (which is clearly in the left hand in the main theme).
