Songs of Innocence is our first, and best selling choral suite. Published in 1987, it has been acclaimed wherever it has been performed. The music is rhythmic and fun, and strikingly sets the classic texts by William Blake. This is a piece you would be proud to perform anytime. Published as separate octavos, the five movements of Songs of Innocence are listed immediately below. Night is a fitting close to Songs of Innocence. The music paints a vivid picture of the text: "The sun descending in the west, the evening star does shine. The birds are silent in their nest, and I must seek for mine." A capella and accompanied sections alternate. Beautiful and moving.
