This is an excellent piano course. This book A, along with the Activies A and Solo A books, gives the beginner a good foundation in theory and teaching a wide range of piano keys. The student is able to be a good sight reader with the skills taught.

Don't misjudge this course based on the pieces alone. The authors didn't intend for the course books to provide for the child's only performance material

I have used this Method for over 25 years. It always produces great results and great sight readers. Kids are at ease playing in any register--not just thumbs on middle c! This is not for the young beginner. I find the ideal age is 8.
