This book was written to enable a student who has begun lessons with a traditional method to transition into level 2 of "Music Through the Piano," an intensive multikey course. Of course, it could be used for this purpose with other courses, such as Pace. Each key is developed one...

at a time with short reading pieces that use I IV V7 harmonies in five-finger positions with extensions. Systematic review of previously studied keys is included throughout. Transposition to other keys is also a feature of the program. A good use of this book is as a supplement to many of the popular courses that are often short on pieces in keys other than C, G, and F. Using this book enables the teacher to continue to use his or her favorite teaching approach and pieces while still providing the musicianship skills a student needs to be a well-rounded musician.
