"2018 Keyboard Contest Entry"       Moon River - early intermediate piano solo

As one of the most beautiful, yet simple tunes ever written, Moon River won the 1961 Award for Best Original Song and the 1962 Grammy Award for Song of the Year.  No surprise here!  I clearly remember during my teenage years, playing and singing this at the piano.  It is timeless and still as popular as ever.

With a lush introduction of RH triad chords, the melody follows with a very simple one note line.  Modulating from G Major to B Flat Major, it is repeated almost identically (in the new key).  It closes in a way similar to the introduction.

This arrangement is elegant, beautifully crafted and fits well beneath the hands.
