I am always in search of musicals that allow for flexibility with regard to varying abilitities, time, and adaptability to involve as many people who want to participate. I found the best experiences were when I used children from K-Highschool with adults portraying some of the roles. My HS...

students return to play the Shepherds, Mary/Joseph,even the parents want to participate as Shepherds, or towns people. Adults are cast in the role of Benjamin and Rachel. A fourth grader or third is the servant...boy or girl. The Wisemen have often included the Pastor, a Dad, or a Church leader...or in a school situation faculty members. Older elem/mid-high students play the "staff" at the Inn. Younger children are interspersed and everyone sings on the big "production" numbers which often include choreography. I am in a new position & look forward to introducing this fabulous musicial to a new audience.
